On December 1st 2012, E.M.B.L.-HSG held its annual graduation ceremony in the Pfalzkeller in St. Gallen.

Also this year’s graduation ceremony took place in the Pfalzkeller of the old Abbey in St. Gallen.

‘Steuerdoping im Streit mit der EU’ - Article in NZZ about Marco Felder’s dissertation thesis

Marco Felder – former director of Fiscal Authority of the Principality of Liechtenstein and E.M.B.L.-HSG alumni - submits his dissertation thesis on special tax regimes.
He recommends Switzerland to use EU-compatible tax privileges for research funding and licensing.

Die Schweiz legt traditionell großen Wert auf ihre Eigenständigkeit. Doch es ist an der Zeit, abermals einen Beitritt zum Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum zu prüfen. Auch die Einführung des Frauenstimmrechts ist dort erst im zweiten Anlauf gelungen.

David Spence Presents at EUCG Conference

David Spence, professor of law, politics and regulation at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and part of the faculty of the E.M.B.L. Texas-module, delivered a presentation titled “The Future of Competitive Electricity Markets.” Starting with an historic overview of energy markets, he discussed the evolution from a regulated market to a more competitive model. In addition, he spoke about the effect that the competitive model has had on issues like price, generation, transmission and innovation.
